Depicted are the major steps used to restore a metal roof. We wash with an acid etching solution. Prime with rust inhibiting primer. Seal all seams and fasteners. Finalize the roof with a UV resistant top coat. This roofing system has longevity and is cost effective.
Before the system can be applied, the roof must be completely clear of debris using a power washer and a commercial blower.
The first layer applied is the primer. It helps the layers bond together for a seamless roof surface.
If a product is sprayed on a metal roof without sealing the fasteners or the penetrations, the roof could spring new leaks.
Each seam is sealed before the final top coat is applied. The most cost-effective coating color is white because of its high reflectivity value. We offer it in our base quotes, but we offer color top coats as an extra customization option.
Full Fabric systems are often used on Tar and modified bit roofs. The roof is cleaned and primed. Fabric is imbedded into a basecoat and back rolled to ensure proper coverage. The entire roof is then top coated with a UV resistant top coat for longevity.
We can also go over existing TPO and EPDM roofs with our fabric systems. Either treating the seams with fabric or covering the entire membrane with fabric embedded in basecoat. These systems also include the UV resistant top coat for longevity. Restoring these roofs offer a thicker overall wear layer when complete compared to just replacing the membrane and it is much more cost effective.
